About Me
Much of my spiritual direction practice can be summed up in one word: Welcome. I work with clients who are looking to hold the complexities of life. Once evangelical, I came to faith in a context where parts of me had to shrink in order for my faith to “thrive.” My religious container needed to transform when my son came out as gay, as I realized that in order to welcome the beauty and complexity of life, my container needed expanding.
As a Certified Spiritual Director and Supervisor, I support clients by providing a safe space where all parts of themselves, and all of life, can be explored. I’m passionate about helping you listen to your inner voice and wisdom and creating an inviting space for you to explore whatever is getting your attention. To assist in this process, I bring warmth, curiosity, compassion, authenticity, reflective listening, and my training in Spiritual Direction to our sessions.
In my role as a Supervisor, I listen with Spiritual Directors to whatever is getting in the way of, or fostering, a spacious, non-anxious, hospitable presence with their directees.

Why Spiritual Direction?
Often religion has taught us that our inner experience isn’t to be trusted and that external sources of teaching overrule our inner authority. Spiritual direction is a space to unlearn that. It’s a space to let go of what has not been serving us and to reconnect with our experience of God and our inner wisdom.
I believe, “God comes to us disguised as our life” (Paula D’Arcy). Therefore, as a trained listener, in each session I offer a unique listening space where you’re invited to turn toward your inner joy, pain, and whatever else you find with honesty, gentleness, compassion, humor, and trust. The spiritual direction relationship is about coming home to yourself and bringing awareness to your inner experience. As with any deep shift, this deeper inner awareness has ripple effects into all areas of life.
